Integrated Water Resources Management: Challenges of the XXI century

Under this name, a regular session was held in the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Project “European Best Practices on Water Safety for Sustainable Development” 597938-EPP-1-2018-1-EN-EPPJMO-MODULE, which is being implemented at the Ecology Department of Petro Mohyla National University.

The topic was presented by the responsible executor of the Project, Associate Professor of Ecology Department, PhD Viktor Smyrnov.

Participants in the Interdisciplinary European Studies have had an opportunity to discuss the following key issues: the global UN agenda; problems of floods, drinking water, urban wastewater, nitrates, marine environment; basin principle.

The following issues were of particular interest to the participants of the Interdisciplinary European Studies on Water Security: the principle of operation of automated hydrological stations for monitoring flood situations in Western Ukraine; prospects for increasing the observation posts on the rivers of Ukraine, etc.

For World Water Day, which is celebrated on March 22, an essay contest on “The value of water in my life” was announced.
