The strategies of EU environmental policy

The second lesson of the module was devoted to the main principles of the European Union’s environmental policy. Particular attention is paid to its strategic orientations, and to the international instruments adopted in this field, adopted under the auspices of the United Nations.
During the discussion, the students had an opportunity to get acquainted with the position of the European community on issues of biodiversity conservation, climate change, and water use. The economic instruments that the EU provides for the balanced use of natural resources is also not overlooked.
