Basics of freshwater ecology. Best practices for water purification in EU member states

Under this name, regular sessions were held on March 10, 2021, in the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Project “The best European practices in water security for sustainable development” 597938-EPP-1-2018-1-EN-EPPJMO-MODULE, implemented at the Department of Ecology of Petro Mohyla National University.

The topic was presented by the Project Coordinator, Professor of the Department of Ecology, Doctor of Sciences Olena Mitryasova.

Participants of the Interdisciplinary European Studies had the opportunity to discuss the following key issues: water – the matrix of life; regional aspect of water supply: the history of the issue; methods of water treatment: MKP “Mykolayivvodokanal”; experience of Poland and Germany in wastewater treatment and water treatment.

The issue of water treatment and wastewater treatment in Germany was of particular interest to participants in the Interdisciplinary European Water Safety Studies.

In continuation of the topic discussion, the participants of the session shared their experience of water supply in other cities of Ukraine.

The project team hopes that the new knowledge in the field of water security gained during the Module will be a new platform for further creative collaboration and collaborative research.
